News
Freelancing Proper | 04.12.09
Having finished a massive year and three month contract at Future Publishing in Bath, I am now back in Bristol, on the freelancing wagon and not commuting! Which is excellent news.
While at Future I worked with their über-dev team helping to build www.totalfilm.com and www.cyclingnews.com with some CakePHP and Memcache methodology.
Sedgemoor Union and another Brunel Award Nomination | 17.03.08
Brunel's Britain was nomminated at the 2008 "Media Innovation Awards" in the Multi-platform category. Didn't win but still nice to see some recognition for the site two years after completion...
Also www.sedgemoorunion.org.uk, a Universal Source design and build, is now in full flow with good electronic music bits.
Sam Douglas | 28.06.07
Just finished a new site showcasing the excellent oil paintings of Sam Douglas
The idea behind it was to keep the design as simple as possible so as not to take away from the impact of the paintings. The modular, blocky, design also allows allows for easy tracking of your current page within the structure.
Re-brand | 21.11.06
"Universal Source" sounds much more like it...
The old zine articles are now moved to a more permament spot.
Brunel BAFTA Nomination and Johnny Kingdom | 01.11.06
Amazingly "Brunel's Britain" has been shortlisted for a Children's BAFTA in the Interactive category at this year's awards.
New Johnny Kingdom promotional site just finished too.
Brunel and Updates | 25.05.06
Sorted the site out generally and added two new Brunel related sites to the portfolio.
Nelson 200 | 16.12.05
Added the GridClub micro-site Nelson 200 to the portfolio page.
New site live... | 01.08.05
After a few months in the wilderness a proper(ish) designed site is live. I've gone for a partially Em based design which should work a bit better for people who like large text, is of course built in valid XHTML and CSS2.
